Post 10

This class was a lot more informative and a lot more fun than I thought it would be. The main suggestion I have for improving the course would be regarding time management. I feel like sometimes a good deal of time was wasted in instruction and explanation. I realize that people came in already knowing different aspects of technology and that we all learn different things at different levels; however taking time to explain things over and again can become a bore. I think a good alternative would be to briefly explain how each program works. Then we could be released to work on the weekly assignment that related to the program we just learned about. We could either be given time during class to work on it while you are available to continue with more in-depth explanation of the subject matter. Or we could leave and you could send us videos for extra help like you did a few times during this semester. Either way, since we are in class for such an extended period of time, it would be nice if we could get a lot more work done as you explain things in greater detail. Also, we could be required to bring our books to class so they can help us learn and so maybe we could do our blog entries in class as well. I think students who need to learn will pay close attention but those who already know how to do the work will have the opportunity to move ahead and complete their work.

Summer,

Good points. A new aspect of learning and web pages these days is "LEARNER CENTERED" or "USER CENTERED." When it comes down to it, you have to decide to learn or not. Some teachers might be afraid to let students come and go as they please from class. You and I know that some students will leave and not stick around to get help because its 8am for cryin out loud and they want out :) None the less I hear what you say. It may have been better to do something like 1 hr instruction, 2 hours work or vice versa. I certainly could have used the book more. Great input though. Thanks
